The ionian mode, so from c-c and similar to the major scale. This scale was named by Glareanus and
submitted to the system of modi.
The time signature is 5/4.
The dorian mode are the white keys from d-d, its almost a minor scale but with a raised 6th. For the singing it is transposed to b-flat (transposing was unusual in the Middle Ages). l'Homme Armee was a populair song in the 15th century. It was often used as bass voice (cantus firmus) in many masses. The time signature: 7/4.
The phrygian mode runs from e-e, which makes it a minor scal with a lowered 2nd. The time signature is 11/8.
The lydian mode from f-f equals a major scale with a raised 4th.
This song has a somewhat more normal time signature: 3/4(waltz).
The mixo-lydian scale runs from g-g, so a major scale with a lowered 7th. It's often used in blues- and popmusic.
The time signature is 5/4.
The aeolian mode has the tones from a-a, its equal to the authentic minor scale. This is one of the modes that Glareanus has submitted to the system of modes.
The time signature is 5/4 again.
The locrian mode runs from b-b and is the most difficult to listen to; it is almost impossible to recognize the last chord as an end, especcialy while it's a diminished chord. For this reason the mode was rejected by Glareanus as being unpractical.

With this song we ar halfway, the songs coming are again in the mode reflected in the titles and have an element of the songs in the same mode from the first half.
The first melody is made of the tones of the first melody from Aeolian in reversed order.
